What stirring words that continue to echo to this day and date.
On November 15, 2014, Sharon Kay, President of the New York State Chapter, The Daughters of the Founders and Patriots of America (DFPA) hosted a luncheon in New York City and welcomed Miles Young, President, Friends of Hermione-Lafayette in America. Young briefed more than 30 members and friends of DFPA about the upcoming 2015 voyage of the Hermione to America.
Young shared details about Hermione’s two New York ports of call; the first from July 2-4, 2015, in New York City, and then, on Long Island at Greenport from July 6-7, 2015. At each port, Young noted, the Hermione will be the locus of many related cultural, historical, culinary and musical events.
Also in attendance was Sallie de Barcza of the Washington-Rochambeau Revolutionary Route USA (W3R-USA), which is supporting Friends of Hermione-Lafayette in America’s plans in various ports and activities.
Hermione’s upcoming voyage and New York visit generated a lot of enthusiasm and excitement, noted Kay in her welcoming remarks. After his talk, Young answered many questions from DFPA members, who expressed great interest in Hermione’s American visit.
